Winterset Dental Care Logo

This natural mineral is released from rocks into the soil, air, and water. There are varying amounts of natural fluoride in the water around this country but, often, it has a low level of this mineral. Natural springs can have high levels of fluoride.

In 1945, Grand Rapids Michigan began adding fluoride to the city water system, only after conducting significant scientific research. Today, water fluoridation is recommended by almost all medical, dental, and public health organization. These include the World Health Organization, American Academy of Pediatrics, U.S. Public Health Service, and the American Dental Association.

Community water fluoridation has been identified as the most cost-effective method of delivering fluoride to all, in fact, the CDC named it one of the ten greatest public health achievements of this century.

If you drink bottled water, check to see whether it contains fluoride!
